Job description
The family are looking for an experienced, confident nanny who would like a long term, sole charge position looking after twin boys of 8 years old.
The suitable candidate will have experience working with primary age children. The right fit is someone who is very articulate with excellent communication, someone who is firm (but fair) someone who is confident and capable of engaging with the boys and able to treat them as 2 individuals with different interests rather than twins and assume they are the same. Our new nanny should have a genuine love for children, someone who can help them reach their full potential in a fun and engaging way. The role is full time sole charge. Term time the hours are 34 hours per week and in the school holidays the nanny should be happy to work 50 hours per week. The children are at full time school and the nanny will have sole charge outside school hours and during the school holidays. While children are school, the nanny will have time to cook, carry out child related hk duties, run errands and have ample time to plan fun and educational activities to do with the kids. The nanny should be a self-starter who can take initiative, someone who loves being outdoors, is energetic, and has the ability to be fun and adventurous whilst understanding that safety is paramount. The nanny should also be able carry out fun, creative activities including drawing and other crafts. TV and screens are generally not allowed, the nanny should enjoy engaging in conversation taking an interest I the boys days as well as talking about current affairs and their other interests. Both boys are very active and great conversationists. They enjoy learning about new things and are very inquisitive about the world. The boys have different interests and hobbies, and it is important for the nanny to teach the boys to compromise so that both boys can enjoy the activities planned. M is older (by 2 minutes!) and is very into board games, World Wars I &II, planes, cars, lego, pop music! He plays golf and swim twice a week. He has been learning the cello and will be taking his ABRSM exam in March. J is very creative and already showing huge talent with drawing. He loves learning about religion, history, kings and queens, mythical stories and creatures and gods and goddesses. He is an expert on Egyptian artefacts and gods and knows a lot about classical music. He also enjoys dance, baking, sewing and has an appreciation for beautiful things. J also plays golf and swims twice a week. He loves the flute and is also taking the ABRSM flute exam imminently. The boys are also supported by a LAMDA tutor and will be take the first set of LAMDA exams as well. They also have a weekly martial art session and have recently join Cubs at the local Scout Club. We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking a wide variety of fresh, healthy meals and needs to be a safe and confident UK driver. It is important for the nanny to have clear communication skills as well as a calm and positive attitude, and who can be both caring and firm.Job tags
