• Position: Manufacturing Engineer
• Salary: £38k to £42k
• Location: Hastings
• Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-13:00 (39hrs per week)

My client is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with experience of 5-axis CNC Milling for the manufacture of complex high-precision machined parts, including program creation, tooling and workholding selection and process development.

The long-established precision engineering company in Hastings provides components for industries such as civil and defence aerospace, opto-electronics, marine, sensors, telecommunications, motorsport and medical products and the successful candidate would join the team as part of its continued growth in business.

The role includes:

• Designing and manufacturing bespoke fixturing including complete multi-part tombstones to meet both manned and unmanned production requirements.
• Creating complex CNC programs using CAD CAM software such as. Autodesk SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, EdgeCAM.
• Developing complex machining strategies and plan production processes including the selection and specification of workholding and tooling solutions.
• Establishing best practice Methods of Manufacture from customer models / drawings /specifications, to create efficient & effective CNC programs for both existing and new production requirements.
• Using both CAD/CAM software and manual programming techniques to achieve efficient and effective manufacture of machined parts on 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines, including ‘in-machine’ inspection using Renishaw probing systems.
• Creating and validating settings and production documentation and toolkits as required to ensure production can be carried out effectively by other team members.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and relevant experience in high-precision 3, 4 & 5-axis CNC machining (milling), knowledge and experience of part design, including the creation of 3D model, have a strong understanding of FANUC NC programs and structure and have the ability to use measurement equipment and a strong knowledge of first principles measurement devices and techniques.
