Job description

Play a crucial role in enhancing our care services! We are looking for volunteers to provide administrative support to our care team to enable them to provide a better experience for seriously unwell children and their families.

What will you be doing?

At Noah's Ark Children's Hospice, we help babies, children & young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, to make the most of every day. We do this by providing a range of clinical and holistic care ranging from respite stays, therapies, home support and much more. We support over 350 families across North London and Hertsmere. 

We are looking for volunteers to support our care team with administrative tasks that support us in providing efficient and seamless care services and empower our care team to focus on providing excellent care to children and their families. 

Main activities/tasks:

• Scanning and filing paperwork
• Data entry (database and spreadsheets)(full training will be given)
• Transferring information from Outlook calendars to timesheets (Excel)
• Assisting with stock rotation, monitoring levels of supplies and ordering
• Minute taking in meetings 
• Other general administrative duties as required

What are we looking for?

Qualities/ experience/ skills needed:

• Whilst we will give full training and ongoing support, this volunteer should have experience in an administrative role and of using Outlook and Excel (basic level) and possess general IT skills
• A good level of written English, with high attention to detail
• Interest in, and passion for, the work that we do at Noah’s Ark
• Ability to work within GDPR guidelines and a good understanding of confidentiality and boundaries
• Ability to work well with others and able to follow instructions and be part of a team

What difference will you make?

You'll be providing crucial support to our care administration team who help our nurses, therapists and family support workers provide the highest standards of care.

You'll be helping to ensure that information used by the care teams is recorded accurately and stored securely, helping our teams to make informed decisions and ensuring Noah's Ark upholds confidentiality.

Our sign up process:

• Attend a Volunteer Information Session : a 45 minute session about Noah's Ark and what we do
• Informal Interview This will take place at the Noah’s Ark Office at a mutually agreeable time.
• Core Training Volunteer training to prepare you for your role which can be booked in at a mutually agreeable time.
• Safeguarding Training (3 hours)  training to ensure the safety of our service running regularly throughout the year.
