Head of Security Engineering
The role:
Help us protect D&G’s global technology estate and the data we hold!
This role helps steer both strategic and technical aspects of cybersecurity, guiding D&G progress through its transformation journey with modern and secure engineering and cyber security practices.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software security policies and procedures
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and direction
Develop and maintain documentation of security controls
Implement software security controls
Design technical solutions to address security weaknesses
Analyse system services, spot issues in code, networks and applications
Follow security best practices in performing tasks
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams and D&G Technology
Identify structural vulnerabilities and determine how to avoid them across the D&G Technology estate – globally
Specify secure architectural and engineering patterns to be adopted and facilitate their introduction
Ensure D&G stays abreast of the latest authentication, authorisation, encryption, logging, and security approaches

What you’ll bring:
Solution Design:
Engage directly with development teams via design reviews, consultations and security testing
Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services
Develop and interpret security policies and procedures
Engineering:
Experience implementing security solutions
An understanding of network and web related protocols (such as, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
An understanding of web services
Experience with multiple programming languages (such as, Java, C++, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.)
Experience triaging and developing security alerts and response automation, conducting front-line analysis, and providing escalation support
