EMCOR UK are recruiting for a Business Support Manager to work at our Thames Water site in Reading.
Hours of work: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Clearwater court, Reading
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the central business function of the Thames Water Account Team to support the operational delivery across Managed Fund, PO management, Quote Management and General Administration areas such as invoicing, IT requests, overtime, and salary payments.
The Business Support Team will be the focal point for business support to the key stakeholders across the Account and develop solutions to simplify the operation to drive efficiency and provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders in Engineering, Compliance Projects, Cleaning and Security
To develop and manage a team that is resilient, technically multiskilled and structured to support the Account consistently with cross functional learning at the centre of its service delivery.
To work with Account stakeholders to drive forward the central business function as a centre of excellence supporting the whole account delivery.
Duties
- Target key internal existing EMCOR stakeholders where opportunities exist to leverage increased service delivery.
- Seek out and pursue opportunities and innovation for the contract and consult with the Head of Operations as appropriate.
- Provide focussed support to the existing client Account team, seeking to develop and improve the operation with cross functional skill mindset and training to support the business.
- Take a leading role in key account management (KAM) with the Account Team, including managing the client relationship and identifying risk management issues!
- Attend contract management forum, quarterly business reviews and partnership meetings to ensure KAM principles are adhered to.
- Develop and maintain contacts at the appropriate levels within the wider property and facilities industry, to exploit business opportunities for the business.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on sales activities for presentation to the BDD and Business Unit / Accounts Director.
- Attend monthly meetings organised by the Head of Operations and Account Director to ensure opportunities for improvements are maximised.
- Co-ordinate and lead sales presentations.
- Submit timely operational data for Managed Fund and any associated areas of responsibility.
- Actively participate in the development and expansion of existing contracts and customers.
- Close working relationship with the Accounts Team in relation to all aspects of Account delivery relationship with the Account Management Team to ensure all areas of the Account are supported and reviewed consistently and prioritised when required.
- Performance will be measured according to achieved key targets across the Account in relation to service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with standard company Safety Policy is maintained and always practiced.
- Mobilise new or increased business opportunities and consult with the operational team to ensure a seamless day one delivery, through to the agreed handover date to the operation team. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of company quality system (IMS) for all new or increased business.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of three direct reports, 1 x Managed Fund Supervisor, 1 x Training Co Ordinator and 1 x Managed Fund Administrator
- With further reports in structure that are managed by the Managed Fund Supervisor
- Leading the Managed Fund delivery and ensure budget control is adhered too
Person Specification
Skills:
- Experience of business support within a similar Account
- Experience in leading and managing a multi disciplined team.
- Demonstrable experience of operating successfully at corporate level with large multinational blue-chip clients.
- Intimate knowledge of business operations / financials and specialist sources of information.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
- Basic understanding of EMCOR controls and financial systems
