Locations: All areas of Gateshead

Rates of Pay:
Walker £10.45 / £10.52
Driver £10.61 (Plus Paid Mileage)
Supervisor £10.85

As a Care Support Worker every day is different, you never know what the day will bring! That's what makes it so exciting.

You will be responsible for looking after people who need help due to disability, illness, frailty, and Palliative patients. You will work with both young and old people meeting various needs in their day-to-day life. Tasks such as help with making meals, laundry, dressing, cleaning, washing, medication, and other duties.
Our carers travel to the service users own home and assist them with daily tasks.

Experience is not essential as FULL TRAINING AND SUPPORT IS PROVIDED.

We also welcome applicants who are experienced in delivering care.

About You:
As a Support Worker you will be a dedicated and empathic person who is able to not only provide physical care, but also offer emotional support to help people to reach their maximum independence in a safe and positive living environment. You will bring with you the following skills and experience:

- Positive, proactive, and organised people skills, that will support and develop the people supported
- Able to work alongside other professionals in the Healthcare sector
- Team player
- Well-organised and self motivated
- Having the ability to communicate effectively
- The ability to fully understand the principles of 'safeguarding vulnerable adults'
- Flexible

Although we value relevant experience, you do not need to have prior experience if you can demonstrate a ‘can-do approach’, person-centred values, energy, and commitment. You will have a strong work ethic and duty of care and be able to contribute to a positive team approach. This is a role which can be enjoyed by people who are committed to making a positive difference, including experienced care workers, graduates and people looking for a stimulating career path into social care.

The Role:
The role of Care Support Worker will be delivering personal and practical care to our service users, in their own homes, encouraging their independence to an optimum level. The Care Support worker will also be required to complete documentation and to attend training and meetings. Care tasks include:
- Assisting Clients with all aspects of their personal care.
- Assisting Clients with all aspects of medication.
- Assist Clients with all aspects of their meal preparation and general housekeeping.
- Providing companionship
- Supporting Clients in the use of aids and personal equipment.
- Supporting Clients with home management and helping in the promotion of clients mental and physical activities.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be mobile.
