Job description
Recra are working in partnership with a bespoke manufacturing business who are looking to add a CAD technician to their team. As a CAD Technician, you will provide design input and 3D CAD drawing service for our Contracts and Design team, working as part of our in-house CAD team.
The Design & Contracts Department is fast paced with many projects running at various locations on the same day, it is important that you are able to prioritise and organise your workload efficiently.
Main Job Role: - Working with Project Managers & Design Managers to produce drawings for a specific project as specified in the contracted package of work.
- Initial modelling of bespoke items to include joinery items, sheet metal parts, steel fabrications, ceramic and sanitary ware, brassware and ironmongery.
- Assembly of full-room layout models.
- Produce drawings sets from models to provide architectural drawings for approval.
Skills/Attributes required:
- Must possess excellent 3D CAD modelling skills – using Autodesk Inventor.
- Good knowledge of parametric control /iLogic would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in reading construction/manufacturing drawings.
- Able to work from architectural design drawings and written brief to produce detailed design and manufacturing drawings for specific and bespoke products. Initial product training will be given.
- Good Communication skills – both to accurately convey and retrieve information from variety of sources and media.
- Organisation and time/task management skills are important.
- The ability to be a team player and to be accountable.

- Applicants must have experience/proven track record in 3D modeling and producing conventional design and construction drawings.
- Ideally people from a joinery, shop fitting or fabrication background is preferred.
