We are currently looking for someone to join our HR team in a support role. The HR Support role provides support to the HR Manager on a daily and is the first point of contact in the HR Team on site for approx. 330 colleagues. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day-to-day administration for the department including answering calls and taking minutes at meetings

Deal with general queries from managers/supervisors/staff as and when required and escalate if needed to HRM

Daily absence recording and reporting and sharing information with managers as required for return-to-work interviews

Listen to the absence line daily and log return to works and pass any concerns to HRM for referral to occupational health

Assisting HR Manager with improving retention of work force

Complete pre-employment checks including reference requests

Responsible for overseeing the full recruitment process from advertising to induction

Ensure all employees have an overall locker, personal locker and a canteen locker as per Hygiene requirements

Audit check all paperwork to ensure file compliance

Assistance with Ethical audits and supporting any other audits requiring HR documentation

Ensure employee records are always up to date

A basic awareness of modern slavery policy and assistance with worker interviews

Develop and maintain good working relationships with your team, peers and external bodies

Ensure all leavers are archived in an orderly manner and in accordance with legislation and internal retention guidelines and policy

Maintain weekly communication with staff – keep televisions up to date, newsletters etc

Liaise with Payroll to ensure all new starter paperwork and any wage changes are processed in a timely manner in line with payroll deadlines

Administer HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment and any others as required

Carry out monthly accommodation inspections

Assistance with recruitment and ongoing support for overseas workers

HR projects as required by the HR Manager

To always adhere to Company hygiene standards

To ensure that you comply with the Company Health and Safety policy at all times

Carry out any other reasonable task assigned to you to meet the operational demands of the site

Knowledge and Experience:

Previous experience is required within an entry level HR position or similar role as above.

Skills :

Strong communication skills speaking to people at all levels in the organisation. Communication styles should be adapted so that it is appropriate to the situation and those being addressed.

There must be flexibility, adaptability and ability to cope with changing priorities in the business

Desire to work collaboratively and contribute to team success.

All HR Information should be handled in a confidential manner

An outgoing and sociable character to engage with colleagues as much as possible during their employment, giving them ample opportunity to feel part of the team and practice their English if not native speakers.

Excellent attention to detail is needed for processing information correctly

Highly organised and ability to prioritise workload

Colleagues should feel able to come and speak to the HR Support as the first point of contact in absence of the HR Manager

Ability to work on own initiative.

Able to cope working in a fast paced and tough environment
