At SISD we follow the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme from Pre-Kindergarten (PreKG) to Grade 12 and the Swiss Baccalaureate programme from Grade 6 onwards. The Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai is an IB Continuum World School authorised to offer and teach the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP).

SISD offers three different streams with an emphasis on offering learners the chance to develop international-mindedness, to broaden their skills and capabilities and to acquire the information needed to access other cultures:

• IB Bilingual English/French (with Arabic)

• IB Bilingual English/German (with Arabic)

• IB with additional languages (French or German with Arabic) and personalised STEAM* programme from PreKG-Grade 5.

We are looking for an outstanding, passionate, caring and driven Head of Sports to join our team for  for August 2024 start.

The Head of Sport has responsibility for all sport activities at SISD. The responsibility will include leading our team of PE staff and coaches to develop sporting excellence. Encouraging participation of pupils of all abilities. The Head of Sport will be responsible for the planning and future growth of sport within the school's curriculum. Responsible for sport outside of the curriculum as well.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field. 
• Holds a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent; 
• 3 Years of experience in a Leadership position. 
• Proven experience in sports program management, preferably in an educational setting. 
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. 
• In-depth knowledge of sports coaching, training techniques, and curriculum development. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and staff. 
• Understanding of safety protocols and risk management in sports and physical education environments. 
• Passion for promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among students.
