A global leading industrial manufacturer based in Leicestershire who have established themselves as a true player within industry, looking to bolster their high-performance team with another Strategic Buyer.
Job Description
- Identify, negotiate and implement collaborative relationships with our key/ partnership suppliers where appropriate.
- Negotiate and implement contracts through a range of tendering processes to support the business requirements
- Develop a clear strategy for the specifically owned commodity areas to deliver the short/medium/long term requirements of the business and ensure suppliers are capable of the requirements
- Together, as part of the group commission and through a clear commodity approach leverage the wider group spend and develop true supplier partnership relationships both in the UK and internationally
- Resolving day to day supply issues to ensure component parts arrive in time as part of the procurement process
- Negotiate lead-times across the whole of our supplier base (Far East and local) to maximise inventory. Together with Supply Chain expedite deliveries where required to support production
- To provide ongoing support to the Manufacturing, Design, Marketing, Engineering and support teams through sourcing strategies and pricing forecasts along with key commodity analysis activities
- Work closely with supply chain to ensure suppliers are contracted and delivering to plan and optimising inventory.
The Successful Applicant
- Exprience within a Strategic Buyer role or similar, with a background in manufacturing or engineering
- Skilled with data analysis and commodity analysis
- A high-level understanding of procurement and sourcing processes, including contract negotiations and key performance indicators.
- Skilled negotiator adept at managing complex negotiations to realise efficiency's within the supply chain, identifying and leveraging new supplier relationships in the UK and/or internationally.
- Numerate, with good accuracy and attention to detail.
- Additional language would be beneficial.
- Must be self-disciplined to work to tight deadlines and within set processes and procedures.
- Persuasive, Self-motivated, organised.
- Happy to use own initiative and good team player, capable to work under limited supervision
- Good verbal and written communicator (develop plans and overviews)
- Work effectively with other departments to achieve the best result for the business as a whole.
- Must be willing to work extra hours in season to manage fluctuation, seasonal customer demand where required.
