Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Neurologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role entails diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system, encompassing the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. As a key member of our medical team, the successful candidate will play a crucial part in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurological conditions, providing high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with other medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient evaluations, including interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining detailed medical histories.
- Diagnose and treat neurological disorders, including stroke, dementia, seizures, and multiple sclerosis.
- Order and interpret results of neurophysiological tests such as MRI, CT scans, and EEGs.
- Prescribe medication and recommend lifestyle changes to manage symptoms effectively.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing neurosurgery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, psychiatrists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in neurology and related medical fields through continuous education and research.
- Communicate comprehensively with patients and their families regarding conditions and treatment plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialized training in Neurology.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice in the UK.
- Proven experience in a neurology department within a hospital or similar clinical setting.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.

Preferred Skills:
- Subspecialty interest or fellowship training in a specific area of Neurology.
- Experience in conducting and analysing neurophysiological tests.
- Publication of research in reputable medical journals.
