Unit Manager (HGV 1 Driver)

EMS Healthcare

Location

Ellesmere Port, Cheshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Do you want a job where you can make a real difference to people’s lives?

EMS Healthcare are the UK’s largest mobile clinical research partner, and we have supported over 50 NHS Trusts, Health Boards and private providers in delivering mobile capacity across the healthcare landscape.

Working at EMS Healthcare is varied and rewarding, and every project we are part of has one thing in common, it’s about improving health outcomes for everyone.

From a partner in the delivery of the GRAIL NHS-Galleri trial - the world’s largest trial of a blood test that can detect more than 50 types of cancer - to providing clinical teams with additional capacity whenever and wherever they need it. We work alongside a wide spectrum of healthcare partners and our dedicated teams are committed to making a difference to people’s lives.

Want to join us as our new Unit Manager ?

This is an opportunity for someone who has HGV qualifications and experience to deliver projects that can change the lives of people across the UK.

Beyond the traditional driving duties, you’ll be helping us to set-up mobile healthcare spaces as part of our operational team. You will be responsible for the preparation, deployment, movement and re-establishment of our mobile medical units before handing over to our clinical teams.

As the boots on the ground, you’re at the front line and what our clients see and experience as the face of The EMS Group. You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure; leading your team by example and able to create solutions to issues that may arise during the deployment phase.

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

You need to be an excellent communicator with the skills and focus on delivering outstanding customer experiences, along with a great attention to detail. You need to be self-motivated individual who is committed to high standards and meeting tight deadlines, as well as being reliable with practical skills and initiative. You must have a flexible attitude to work, with the ability to adapt to changing demands, as well as being able to work from home for extended periods and occasionally with unsocial hours, including 5 out of 7 days which include weekends as required.

Due to the complex nature of the role, we need individuals with practical experience of manual work and a good knowledge of mechanical and electrical skills, including a class 1 HGV license. You must be a UK resident with the ability to travel throughout the UK and overseas. Additionally, you must always work within the guidelines set out in EMS’ ISO processes (9001 quality, 14001 environmental and 45001 H&S), Health and Safety procedures and the Employee Handbook. Having a HIAB license, experience within the events industry and language skills are also advantageous.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
