Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting a leading national health charity to recruit for a Head of Volunteering and Community Networks on a 6 month contract.  

The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver a strategic plan for volunteering which grows organisational capacity and capability in volunteering, facilitating the delivery of their strategy. You will provide strategic leadership to the volunteer-led community networks, lead, manage and develop the operational delivery of the Volunteering and Community Networks department and grow the impact and reach of their work in the community, especially amongst groups that they currently underserve. In addition you will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across their networks, and enable volunteers to conduct their activities in a safe and legal way which appropriately manages risk. You will ensure that their support to volunteers and volunteer managers is high quality, consistent, and responsive to need.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of the management, leadership and development of staff and volunteers with a proven track record of success in leading and managing a team to deliver high quality results to deadlines. You will have experience and excellent working knowledge of volunteering, a strong external volunteer management network and have experience of development and successful implementation of a volunteering strategy. In addition you will have experience of operating at a senior level within a volunteering function or organisation, engaging significant numbers of volunteers
