MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Finance Assistant for an Ipswich based professional services business that we have worked with for a number of years. As a Finance Assistant you will support the Operational Finance function in the processing of funds including posting to ledger systems, making payments and reconciliation work.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Preparation of client billing reports used as part of the wider billing process.
- Daily preparation of client cashbooks.
- Daily reconciliation of bank to the system.
- Daily clearing client suspense accounts.
- Investigating and responding to client and internal queries.
- Preparation, input and checking of transfers and payments.
- Payment of invoices, delivering remittance information and investigating queries.
- Preparation of Financial Reporting Packs and general ledger reports to clients for use in their own account records & statutory reporting.
- Preparation of investor reports to Trustees & other 3rd parties as required.
- Calculation and initiation of daily transfer of investor cash for structured finance deals.
- Assist with audit queries.
- To prepare daily BACS reports.
- Adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Meeting all applicable SLAs.
- A professional attitude must always be maintained.
- Contributing, on behalf of the Operational Finance Team, in internal changes, cross-team and external client related change projects.
Qualifications and experience
- Studying towards AAT.
- High level of accuracy and numeracy.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- A good ability to interpret written, spoken and numerical data.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Aptitude to multitask and be highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- A desire to learn and take on new systems and concepts quickly as well as critically evaluating where appropriate.
