Financial Controller / Financial Reporting Manager | Staffordshire - Hybrid | Up to £90,000.00 per annum
Join a leading Technology firm, based in Staffordshire with a hybrid working policy, as their new Group Reporting Manager. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and acquisition support to contribute to our organisation's continued success and growth.
Responsibilities: As the new Financial Controller / Manager, you will carry out:
- Financial Reporting and Consolidation: Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group. Lead the consolidation process to ensure the integrity and completeness of financial data across all entities. Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development and management of the annual budgeting process in collaboration with key stakeholders. Provide insightful analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Acquisition Support: Collaborate with the Board and external advisors to evaluate potential acquisition targets. Conduct financial due diligence and analysis on target companies. Assist in post-acquisition integration activities, including financial system integration and alignment of accounting policies.
- Tax Oversight: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations. Manage tax reporting obligations, including the preparation of tax returns and filings. Identify tax planning opportunities to optimize the group's tax position while managing risks.
- Leadership and Team Development: Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
About You: To thrive in this Financial Reporting Manager role, you will:
- Be a qualified accountant (ideally trained in the profession) with experience in financial reporting.
- Have a strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/UK GAAP) and consolidation techniques.
- Demonstrate experience in managing complex financial projects, including M&A transactions would be ideal but not essential.
- Present excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Possess effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- Have proficiency in financial software and ERP systems is desirable.
- Show leadership qualities with a focus on team development and collaboration.
