Software Analyst
Caerphilly / willing to travel to Caerphilly on occasion each period
Salary £21,500 to £25,000 depending on experience
Full Time, 12-month fixed-term position, office-based

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our excellent Application Delivery team as a Software Analyst. In this role you’ll support the business and software delivery teams across the systems lifecycle for all aspects relating to requirements and testing. You will be making a difference, supporting with timely fixes to known data or service-related issues, incidents and change requests.
It’s an important role, with responsibility for ensuring that consistent, clear user requirements are provided, and that traceability and system test plans are produced. This includes training or other documents following standards set out for the IT Analysis function. It’s a diverse role within a friendly team where you will learn and support the IT program of work.
Your role as Software Analyst at phs Group will involve:
- Application Support – manage and prioritise Incident, Service, Problem and Change records and providing Subject Matter Authority (SMA) advice or training to users. Also, specifying changes to systems and / or data, updating documentation, system's developers and colleagues specialising in different areas of IT
- Systems Analysis – improving systems by defining requirements, reducing costs, enhancing their sustainability, and quantifying potential business benefits. Collaborating to create and iterate viable specifications and acceptance criteria in preparation for the deployment of information and communication systems
- Data Analysis – analysing of information structures (including logical analysis of taxonomies, data and metadata). The development of innovative ways of managing the information assets of the organisation
- Requirements definition and management – the definition and management of the business goals and scope of change initiatives as well as the specification of business functional and non-functional requirements to a level that enables effective delivery of agreed changes
- Testing definition and management – the planning, design, management, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques and conforming to agreed standards and regulations. Testing includes the creation of test cases, test scripts, test reports, test plans, etc. to measure and improve the quality of the software being tested
- Consultancy and technical specialism – providing advice and recommendations to the business in terms of analysis of current system functionality etc. based on expertise and experience across technology, technique, method, product or application areas
- Relationship management – building and maintaining great relationships with and between key business and IT stakeholders
