GSL Education’s North Yorkshire Branch is seeking an Early Years Teacher to support provide full-time education to a young person attending an Alternative Provision. This is a unique position and opportunity, where you will work with a small group of education specialists to create and implement a personalised learning plan.
About the Position: - Your main job role will be to engage the young person in educational based activities through play-based learning and their own interests.
- You should take a holistic approach to creating activities and plans for the young person, with the support of Senior Leaders and Teaching Assistants.
- Through the use of Phonics, your main focus will be to enhance the young person’s literacy, speech, and communication skills.
- This is a full-time position to commence after the Easter break.
About the Alternative Provision: - Formed in 2010, the mission of the school is to provide children and young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs with a high-quality education.
- The school aims to provide positive opportunities to help young people succeed and improve their life skills, to increase their chances of returning to mainstream school and contributing to their wider community in a constructive and sustainable manner.
- The students are helped by staff to develop their holistic needs when they may have struggled to succeed in another school.
- Many of the school’s pupils have additional learning or neuro-developmental needs including Autism and ADHD.
- Facilities are vast and include a walled garden, a woodland conservation area and a sports field.
