Job Purpose
The role holder will develop a robust Data Governance Framework, which will embed data standards across CLUK, especially around the use of data for Finance, Customer and Marketing activity. Trusted data is a fundamental aspect of our data strategy.


The role will help to set up CLUK progress monitoring and reporting to ensure adherence to standards (Data roles, data governance maturity model, data governance steering committee and embedding change management), to allow the use of robust data empowering teams to maximise the value derived from their data. Reporting into the Head of Data and Insight, the role holder will look to plan and implement a focused, strategic data awareness culture. You will be responsible for expanding data awareness, data as a product and revenue growth through data usage.


You will work closely with the wider data team, to drive and deliver increases in data awareness and edication to promote a data driven & enriched data culture. Whilst Canada Life is in a transformation stage, you will combine strategic, creative and technical data governance skills to shape the future of CLUK data and drive the business forward. This is a hands-on technical role, at the start of an exciting expansion into data and analytics action.


The role holder will define our Data Governance technical capability, provide expert advice to the business on improving fulfilment of internal and external data policies and standards. This includes establishing strong knowledge-sharing practises and data quality management solutions. You will maintain the Data Issue & Risk Register for the D&I function, reporting progress against data quality metrics. You lead management at all levels on the journey to a high-quality governance environment, influencing up to the Exec, as well as influencing down to front line colleagues to achieve our required good outcomes.


The role holder will use matrix management to support the adherence of Data Governance standards, launching and maintaining standards for today's requirements and training for the future. You will work closely with Data Owners and Stewards to deeply understand opportunities and challenges, and engage them with a mix of education, inspiration and relevant information.
