Job description
We are looking for a Nursery Chef to join a lovely setting close to Addlestone, Surrey. Your role will be to prepare, cook and present age-appropriate food to high standards and keep a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
This is a large setting with a fantastic outdoor play space, a dedicated baby garden, an indoor soft play room which is close to local shops, the train station and local bus routes.
Working in partnership with the nursery team and parents at all times, the Nursery Chef will support the nursery’s care and education provision. You will maintain accurate records of supplies, and order replacements as needed, as well as managing the nursery food budget.
This is a 40 hour per week, Monday to Friday role. In addition to a good salary you will receive 20 days holiday, training and professional development, employee assistance, discounted nursery fees, and free lunch and refreshments.
Responsibilities: - Work in co-operation and partnership with the Nursery team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet
- Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment, adhering to all internal and external requirements
- Ensure that budgetary requirements are met through careful planning of all food orders
- Actively contribute to the enforcement of first-class food hygiene standards across the nursery
- Hold regular cookery classes with children, taking all necessary steps to ensure a safe and hygienic cooking environment within the nursery rooms
- Treat all personal and sensitive information relating to staff, children, families, visitors, nursery or the Company with utmost integrity and confidentiality
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - The Nursery Chef will have previous experience of catering in a childcare setting
- Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements around food allergies
- Food hygiene certification
- Experienced and passionate about cooking for young children
