Rail Replacement Coordinator
Transport UK Rail Replacement provides a specialist service to the UK Rail Industry when train services are disrupted by planned engineering work or emergency incidents. Our highly experienced rail replacement team offer a fully managed service for the provision of coaches, buses, small vehicles, and taxis.
Location
The Role
We are looking to recruit to expand our team of highly passionate, customer focused and engaging people who can facilitate the process of running a smooth and safe rail replacement operation.
As Rail Replacement Coordinator across the GTR network, you will work from a variety of key train stations, providing support to road transport operators and information to our passengers to ensure the operation runs exactly as planned. You will also:
• Ensure drivers and vehicles meet our required standards.
• Ensure journeys arrive and depart on time.
• Ensure connections with appropriate train services.
• Attempt to ensure that passengers are on the right vehicles.
• Adjust the replacement service to consider any changes in circumstances (i.e., Delays to train services, traffic delays, roadworks, accidents etc.).
• Assist with any failures in the delivery of the operation with the support of our Control team with the appropriate and sensible use of standby vehicles.
• Provide information and assistance to passengers, where required.
• Help maintain a safe transfer and pick up/set down area for the customers.
• Act as the key point of contact with station staff in relation to the replacement service.
Our services operate seven days a week, covering a range of different hours – early morning and right into the night. Shifts will be available to suit a wide range of working patterns with a guarantee of 10 hours per year.
The Ideal Candidate
You do not need any experience or qualifications to carry out this role, but you must be willing and able to learn and work under pressure. Full training will be provided. Where the work is safety critical, please note tests will need to be taken and passed for you to proceed in the role.
