Job description
Tormead seeks to appoint, for September 2024, a strong honours graduate to teach Physics. This post would equally suit someone who is looking to start a career in the subject, or someone who already has some experience in the profession. The successful candidate will teach classes in Physics from years 7 to 13 in a lively and ambitious Department, as well as taking a full part in the life of this busy and friendly school.
We are looking for an energetic character who can effectively communicate their enthusiasm for Physics and bring some humour as well as subject knowledge with them. The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of, and a real enthusiasm for Physics and is likely to hold a good honours degree in Physics (or related subject).
They will be self-motivated and will relish the challenge presented by being part of a forward-thinking Department. A commitment to students, the department, and the wider life of the school, plus a firm grasp of curricular developments are important as are empathy, being well-organised, a sense of humour and the ability to enhance the department’s delivery and development of Physics.
There is potential for the right candidate to develop this role to become second in charge of the Physics department.
