Job description
My client based in Mildenhall is looking for an ambitious candidate who is looking to develop their CAD design skills. This role is a chance to learn from more experienced designers and there is chance for future progression within the business.
You will be involved with complex drawings and projects and with the support of your team you will become an expert in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Duties to Include:
- Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce high quality 3D models and technical drawings related to the company’s product range.
- Amend and update drawings where required
- Maintain and update a drawing management system (Cadly) with standard drawings that require configuration made to them.
- Liaise with the sales team to raise designs from customer briefs
- Assist the CAD Designers and Design Supervisor with more complex drawings.
- Support the business Development Manager and sales team in winning work through designing strong and effective design solutions whilst minimising costs to produce and manufacture.
- Contribute to the design and development of new product and mould designs and modifications.
- Liaise with production to ensure they have the correct technical drawings with the correct information.
- Recommend, implement and develop innovative ways to working to increase productivity and drawing range- take a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Support the sales and order processing team with orders in exceptional circumstances such as unplanned leave.
- Provide KPI data as required by the business.
Skills/Experience Required:
- A Passion for design and development and a keen interest in developing CAD skills and knowledge
- Committed to develop with the role.
- Some previous experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce 3D Models and technical drawings
- A Design/Engineering based Qualification such as A Level/BTEC/Apprenticeship/Degree
- Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment producing high quality drawings and products
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Friendly, adaptable, motivated and well organised
- Good knowledge of MS Packages to include Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, a good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise
- An enthusiastic attitude and eager to help the business grow
