Job description

Structural Engineer - required for our client in Ipswich. Our client engineers are supported by technicians, who undertake commissions in all structural materials with the aid of the latest computer modelling software. Their in-house detailing capabilities ensure that they convey all their designs to clients in a clear, concise and understandable format.

The successful Structural Engineer will be working on projects from Foundations, Structural Frames, Steel, Structural Glazing, Specialist Design of Timber Frame and SIPS Panels, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Timber, Lightweight Structures and BIM - Building information Modelling. It is essential that the Structural Engineer has previous experience in these types of projects.

Structural Engineer Position Overview

• Structural design for all types of building structures,
• Preparation of associated AutoCad structural drawings
• Design approvals, coaching and mentoring
• Delivering design calculations
• Project include buildings insurance claims, including subsidence, fire, impact, flooding and storm damage
• Design for medium sized commercial projects and HMO conversions
• Assistance with site inspections
• Carry out hand calculations for verifying software outputs
• Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber

Structural Engineer Position Requirements

• At least 2 + years design experience working for a consultancy.
• A BEng or MEng in a Civil or Structural Engineering discipline
• Good understanding of building structures and materials including steel, masonry, concrete and timber.
• Industry standard structural design software such as TEDDS
• Proficient in the use of AutoCad

Structural Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
• Holiday - Statutory
• Pension - 4%
