About Us:
We are currently recruiting for a specialised school dedicated to providing support and guidance to students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 2 team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to students with EBD and SEMH needs, assisting them both inside and outside the classroom. This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity for a temp-to-perm transition.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored strategies and interventions for students with EBD and SEMH needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with academic tasks and promoting positive behaviour.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
- Support students during unstructured times such as break periods, lunchtime, and transitions between activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with students with EBD and SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification in education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing challenging behaviours.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality within the school community.
