My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside.  We are now looking for them a Electrical Maintenance Engineer.

Monday to Friday 40 hour per week 8-5pm

Salary upto £40k start DOE

28 days holiday inc. stat rising to 29 including stat after completion of 1 holiday year

3-month probationary period following

Auto enrolled into Pension …Co pays 4% & employee 3% of total earnings

The Role

As our Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager, in what will be a very much “hands” on pro-active role, you will be responsible for all aspects of Electrical repairs and maintenance of machinery including automated assembly, injection moulding machines, powder coating lines, conveyors, and hydraulic presses.

The role will also involve electrical installation work throughout the site on things such as armoured cable to feed new machinery and equipment, lighting, and power installations throughout the plant as well as Completing PPM activities of factory services and equipment and also supporting new installations of plant and other equipment.

You will have a proven track record in a similar role with an extensive Electrical understanding and ideally some basic mechanical ability, you will also be able to identify potential issues and advise on corrective course of measures.

We are looking for focused team player with a strong character who likes to work in a fast pace expanding business, is passionate about further improving the department, is creative and has the ability to convey their own ideas to the department.

Main Purpose of the Role:

• To maintain all electrical equipment on site including services, distribution, plant machinery and miscellaneous equipment in accordance with relevant current legislation and ensure that documentation and records are kept accordingly.

• To carryout electrical installation work as required for new plant, machinery, equipment, and services ensuring compliance with the relevant current legislation.

• To meet requirements of all departments at Ashton Road in their daily operations by carrying out various electrical and miscellaneous works.

• To be proactively involved in monitoring the condition of services and machinery reporting defects to the Facilities Manager immediately.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• To carry out portable / fixed appliance testing in line with current regulations and keep records accordingly.

• Diagnose and repair (where possible), electrical faults that occur in the building services, plant, machinery, and other electrical equipment.

• Assist with the training of apprentices and any other training needs of maintenance team.

• Ensure that all work by yourself is carried out in a safe manner, to an agreed standard and meets with current legislation.

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification.
• Apprentice Trained (or equivalent).
• Some basic Mechanical experience.

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience of working in a factory environment.
• BS 7671 18th
• Electrical inspection and testing qualification.
• PAT Testing.
