We are currently recruiting a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our Transport Team based in Witham, Essex.
Main Duties
·Delivery and collection of customers’ freight as assigned by the Transport Office to and from various locations and regions
·Multi-drop delivery and collections
·Supervise the loading of your vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
·Ensure the correct goods and quantity of goods are loaded and unloaded
·Plan you day and route in the most cost and operationally effective manner
·Present, process and return customers Delivery Notes
·Secure and return Proof of Delivery advice notes (POD) electronic and/or manual
·Inform the Transport Office of any delays to or whilst at work
·Maintain your vehicle (inside and out) in a clean and very tidy condition
·Refuel your vehicle daily in accordance with Company Procedure
·Due care and attention to other road users and members of the public through safe and courteous driving.
·Wear the required PPE as designated by site signage.
·Report all accidents and near misses
·Have a clear understanding of the Company's Policies and read the Drivers’ Handbook
