Job description

Main Responsibilities Key Holder Responsible for switching telephone service at appropriate times of the day Check Doctors' consulting rooms and Attached Staff room before each surgery Answer the telephone, make appointments, record requests for home visits Receive patients at Reception desk, record their arrival on the appointment system Direct patients to consulting rooms Operate the appointment system Register patients for the Patient Access Online System and assist with queries Send text messages to patients as appropriate, via the MJog texting system Receive repeat prescription requests, prepare, and process them via the computer Receive and accurately record details of messages, ensuring all messages reach the relevant personnel Assist in the Dispensary when requested Print patient information leaflets when requested Participate in data collection Acquire a working knowledge of computers in the practice Waiting area - keep clean and tidy during the day Check patient toilet between surgeries Print appointment lists for afternoon / next morning clinics Check Home Visit Book and print patient summaries Additional Responsibilities Co-ordinate child immunisations Monthly shopping for staff refreshment supplies Fire Alarms - check, test, and update files Order supplies for Nurses and Housekeeping Check INR / DMARD bloods weekly and review appointments Postnatal appointments and immunisation You may be required to perform other related duties from time to time.
