About Us
We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.
We are now looking for a Projects Manager to join us on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

The Role
As our Projects Manager, you will oversee some of our biggest and highest profile reform projects.
Developing a standard operating model to structure how we approach our reform work, you will oversee the set-up of new projects, agreeing the mandate with our Management Board and a project definition document and tolerances with our Reform Board.
You will oversee project governance and decision-making arrangements and ensure scope, plans, finances, resources, dependencies, risks, deliverables and benefits are managed effectively.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide efficient and timely reporting to a range of internal audiences
- Coach, manage and support colleagues across Qualifications Policy and Reform (QPR)
- Develop and refine our project management policy, guidance, toolkits and processes
- Create an operating model for how we plan and conduct review, reform and change management activity
About You
To be considered as our Projects Manager, you will need:
- Experience of leading and/or managing projects using formal project management techniques
- Experience of developing and implementing new agile ways of working
- Experience of working on a range of different kinds of projects
- Knowledge and understanding of applying and adapting a range of formal Project Management frameworks, systems and ways of working
- The ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Proficiency in IT, including MS Project and Microsoft Teams
- A formal project or programme management qualification
