**Technical Author** (Contract)

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for Extension)

Location: Remote (Occasional travel to office situated in Warrington or Manchester)

Rate: A highly competitive Day Rate is available for suitable candidates

Role Purpose

Responsible for creating documentation that clarifies product's features and benefits and maintain standard operating procedures and develop and maintain a library of all EM written material. Working on requirements including content strategy or scoping out new products to ensure all necessary information has been included for users to understand quickly and concisely.

Role Requirements:

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements


• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience


• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides


• Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications


• Analyse existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities


• Develop and maintain a library of all EM written material


• Maintain standard operating procedures

Skills & Experience:

• Proven working experience in technical writing including software documentation


• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail such as User guides Online help, Web pages and customer support pages, Knowledgebase articles, Tutorials, Training material.


• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures


• Excellent written skills in English


• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office


• Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development


• Experience using ServiceNow will be beneficial


• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
