Job description
The starting salary for this role is £66,774 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.
This is a 9 month fixed term contract.
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic and solution focussed individual to join our SVS team as an Assistant Headteacher for inclusion, additional needs, health, wellbeing and early years.
This is a fixed term opportunity for 9 months to cover the postholder's forthcoming maternity leave. It can also be offered as a secondment (please ensure agreement is in place for this from your current employer prior to applying).

About the Role
The Assistant Head Teacher role sits within the Senior Leadership Team of Surrey Virtual School. The role has strategic responsibility for the areas of SEND, Inclusion, Attendance, Exclusions, Early Years, health and wellbeing. The role also has operational responsibility for the West of the County, direct line management responsibility for two Education Support Officer roles and matrix management of our linked EP role and our Early Adviser.
About You
You will be a dynamic and passionate individual committed to making a difference to the lives of children young people who are care experienced and the adults who work with them. You will have the drive, energy and ambition needed to develop this key area of the Virtual School's work and be able to work at pace and scale within our Surrey context. You will need to be adaptable and transition quickly into this role, given that it is to cover maternity leave. You would ideally be ready to start as soon as possible from 3rd June 2024, for a 9 month period (June 2024- March 2025) which will include a short period of overlap with the current postholder.
