Job description

A high performing organisation within the Education sector have significant expansion planned over the next 2 years and are looking to appoint a new Head of Finance. This newly created position has been created due to growth, and sits as number 2 in finance, leading a small team of finance staff, reporting to an experienced and engaging CFO.

Your New Role as Head of Finance:

As Head of Finance, specific responsibilities will include:

• Lead a team of 3 finance staff, being responsible for any training and development
• Work closely with the leadership team to develop budgets and financial plans
• Prepare financial reports including monthly management accounts
• Assist the CFO in the preparation of annual financial statements and external statutory returns
• Assist in the preparation of strategic plans and long-term financial forecasts
• Provide analysis of financial data, identifying any trends to present to senior management
• Management of cash flow
• Review the integrity of income and expenditure postings ensuring accruals, prepayments, accrued/deferred income adjustments are accurate
• Continual involvement in enhancing existing systems and processes
• Being a key player in various ad hoc projects

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The successful candidate will be technically strong and fully qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA, proven in a similar level finance role. Strong communication skills are imperative as you will be required to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders within the organisation. Staff management experience is also required along with the ability to influence and drive positive change within a finance function. Whilst a background within the Education sector is not essential, you will have the capability to quickly pick up new processes and principles.
