Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Adherring to health, safety, environment and welfare policies and procedures in the workplace
- Mixing mortar, setting out and building brickwork, including complex arches and surrounding brickwork, curved on plan, concave and convex brickwork and battered brickwork
- Shaping and trim bricks/blocks using hammers, chisels and power tools
- Using laser levels, spirit levels, optical levels and string lines to check that courses are straight, horizontally and vertically, and laid to a gauge
- Operate equipment on site in a safe manner
- Part of a team providing support and assistance
- Keep work area tidy and safe
- Perform additional tasks as directed by Site Management and Sub-contractor Team
The training you will be getting
- Attend intensive block release training at the NHBC Brickwork Training Hub in Tamworth or Cambridge
- Functional skills in maths and English (if required)
- Accomodation and travel paid for training is fully funded
- Will achieve Level 2 Bricklayer standard within 18-months

To continue working for a contractor, or you could feel ready to go solo and set yourself up as self-employed.
