Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Adherring to health, safety, environment and welfare policies and procedures in the workplace
• Mixing mortar, setting out and building brickwork, including complex arches and surrounding brickwork, curved on plan, concave and convex brickwork and battered brickwork
• Shaping and trim bricks/blocks using hammers, chisels and power tools
• Using laser levels, spirit levels, optical levels and string lines to check that courses are straight, horizontally and vertically, and laid to a gauge
• Operate equipment on site in a safe manner
• Part of a team providing support and assistance
• Keep work area tidy and safe
• Perform additional tasks as directed by Site Management and Sub-contractor Team

The training you will be getting

• Attend intensive block release training at the NHBC Brickwork Training Hub in Tamworth or Cambridge
• Functional skills in maths and English (if required) 
• Accomodation and travel paid for training is fully funded
• Will achieve Level 2 Bricklayer standard within 18-months

To continue working for a contractor, or you could feel ready to go solo and set yourself up as self-employed.
