Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, inspects incoming parts/material, outgoing orders verify that certification is correct, checks parts for processing, check special orders, daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts Dimensional Inspections per Design record and documented AQL levels
- Review and Disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Standards. Disposition and control on non-conforming product
- Assist in internal, customer and third-party audits. Identify and communicate opportunities to increase Inspector productivity
- Input Inspection results into Internal database
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- High School/Diploma
- 0 to 2 years of working experience
- Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures or pass basic inspection exam
- Fluent in English, reading, writing and verbal communication
- Strong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Required to pass documented color and near vision exam
- Ability to read blueprints
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Associate Degree
- 2 to 4 years of working experience
- Knowledge of AS9100 Requirements
- Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts
- Previous aerospace inspection experience
- Strong inspection knowledge with use of Calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator and smart scope
Other Requirements
- Precise hand/eye coordination: Frequently
- Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions: Constantly
- Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 30lbs: Frequently
- Prolonged benchwork i.e. sitting
- Once fully trained and competent for the role, the candidate is expected to end work at 6pm daily to cover late pick-ups and outbound inspections.
