Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

A challenging and varied opportunity for a graduate at the beginning of their journey in surveying/claim handling to join this ever growing professional firm and add real value. You may have recently completed a relevant degree and now looking for a chance to develop or/and have previously worked in this area and looking for the next step.

As an Internal Surveyor/claims handler you will be able to look at schedules of repair and costs to ascertain whether they are reasonable or not.

Duties will involve the following:

Ensuring you have the full facts on each case that needs dealing with

Examining documentation to ensure you are in full possession of the facts.

Review schedules of repairs and costs

Producing detailed reports and recommendations

Discussing results with relevant parties

Liaising with our Surveyor or Civil Engineer who has attended site or analysed the documentation and images provided.

Ensuring you keep the internal system up to date and communicate any issues internally

Skills Required

Relevant degree and/or some relevant experience in this sector

Excellent communicator via email and over the phone

Excellent attention to detail

Computer literate and confident with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

Effective verbal and written communicator with good grammar and spelling.

Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Organised and honest.

HOURS OF WORK: 8:45 – 5.00pm Monday to Friday with 1 Lunch

HOLIDAY: 25 days plus bank holidays, an extra 16 hours of time off in lieu taken at no more than two-hour slots which equates to the total of 27 days plus bank holidays.  An additional day is also given for your Birthday if it falls on a weekday.
