ranleigh STEM is working with a global, speciality chemical manufacturing organisation in Bristol. We are looking for a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

As the Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the effective maintenance and optimisation of electrical systems within their facility.

The primary focus of this position will be on electrical maintenance, requiring candidates to hold an 18th Edition (Electrical Only) certification. Additionally, the ideal candidate will bring previous supervisory/leadership experience and possess knowledge of DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) and other relevant legal requirements.

Key duties will include:

CMMS Schedule Management:

Maintain the site CMMS schedule by issuing and inputting works and ppm requests.

Maintenance Tasks:

Accurately complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks within the scope of training, skill, and knowledge.

Ensure equipment operates to its full potential through effective maintenance practices.

Contractor Management:

Conduct induction and permit issuing for outside contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and site regulations.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Observe and report abnormal operation, function, and poor efficiency of equipment and processes.

Ensure timely reporting of any issues affecting the site's operational efficiency.

Legal Compliance:

Ensure legal compliance and optimization of the site's maintenance activities.

Stay updated on relevant regulations and standards impacting electrical maintenance in the chemical manufacturing industry.

Key Requirements:

Educational Background:

An appropriate qualification such as Electrical City and Guilds Qualification Level 3 or equivalent.

Recognised training/apprenticeship in Electrical Maintenance-related engineering scheme (NVQ, BTECH) with proven experience.

Ideally, a minimum of ONC or equivalent technical certificate.

Certifications:

18th Edition (Electrical Only) certification.

COMPEX (ATEX sites only) certification.

Skills and Competencies:

Computer literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Full understanding of engineering drawings.

Experience:

Significant relevant technical experience in electrical maintenance.

Proven track record in overseeing and managing maintenance activities in an industrial setting.
