Medsolve are proud to be partnering with a client who provide residential care across 3 main sites across Newcastle who are looking for an Activities Coordinator to join them on a permanent basis.

The main duties of the Activities Coordinator are:
To have responsibility for the delivery of innovative and creative activities to a wide range of individuals ensuring they meet the needs of people.
To take responsibility for appropriate health and safety considerations of activities and complete risk assessments as needed.
To take responsibility for a group of service users ensuring their basic needs are met.
Keep an up to date support plan for each service user and update individual risk assessments profiles of support as required.
Liaise directly with colleagues and involved health care professionals.
To have responsibility for the day to day coordination and delivery of activities ensuring all are delivered within agreed budgets.
To ensure effective communication between service users staff families support staff and other professionals.
To promote excellent health and safety practices at all times within the residents home and when supporting residents in the community.
To be aware of infection control issues within the home ensuring high standards of personal hygiene and a clean environment are maintained at all times.
Any other reasonable duties relating to the resident s needs.
The skills knowledge and experience required of the Activities Coordinator are:
Essential
Good written/verbal communication skills
Good organisational skills
Knowledge of working with adults with disabilities
NVQ Level 2 in Health and social care
Experience of planning and coordinating activities within a care setting
Able to work on own initiative
Confident to communicate effectively with staff families carers and social care professionals
Flexible enthusiastic committed
Caring and empathetic
Able to work alternate weekend day and occasional evenings to work around planned activities.
Desirable
Criteria Qualifications and Training
NVQ L3 in Health and social care Experience
Experience within an activity coordinator role
Flexible and able to extend hours of work if required
