Job description

September 2024

Bradford Grammar School has a rich background of academic, sporting and creative excellence. Set in historic, urban surroundings, the school is a caring environment where happiness and the wellbeing of our pupils are paramount.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we’re looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic coach to join our prestigious Sports Department at an exciting time in its development.

The school draws equal numbers of pupils from its city surroundings as it does the established suburbs of West Yorkshire and the lower Dales. Our outstanding sporting alumni include Olympians Alastair and Jonny Brownlee, Adrian Moorhouse, Charlie Hodgson and cycling performance analyst for Team GB, Deborah Sides.

At Bradford Grammar School, we firmly believe in providing every opportunity for our Junior and Senior pupils. We invite applications from talented candidates who are committed to delivering coaching of the highest standard. Whilst having a passion for hockey and elite-level participation is desirable, we also seek an appreciation for other sports in the school.

Candidates should ideally hold a degree, with a preference for a background in Sports Science, and possess a Coaching level 3 qualification, although consideration will be given to those with a level 2 qualification. The ability to teach GCSE and A Level PE could be an advantage.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 14 March 2024 .

Interviews will be held 20 March 2024 .

We are an equal opportunities employer, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants are subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and satisfactory employment references.
