Management Accountant Sought - Newly or Part Qualified - Lanarkshire
Fully Office Based : £35,000 - £43,000
W&A is delighted to be partnering with a new client based in North Lanarkshire in their recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their collaborative and progressive finance team.
The role holder will provide comprehensive day to day support to the Finance Manager and team in the financial management of various business areas. This includes responsibility for the preparation of management accounts and associated financial reports.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic business, while also making an impact and adding value by identifying process improvements to make the financial management service of the university more efficient and accurate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for production of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial reporting packs for board
- Preparation of monthly journal entries, including accruals and prepayments, and year end journals to support the preparation of the statutory reports
- Assist the Finance Business Partner with preparing, analysing, and evaluating financial business cases
- Assist the Finance Business Partners with the continuous development of the finance function including identifying areas of change to drive improvement of processes
- Contribute to and provide high quality financial support to the Finance Business Partners for the development and execution of the corporate planning and budgeting processes
- Proactively promote and build effective co-operation and relationships with stakeholders providing advice and support where required
- Build a strong awareness and understanding of all financial and commercial related matters and have the knowledge to respond in a timely manner to queries
- To work on ad hoc projects as assigned
Experience & Skills Required:
- Newly Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant – actively sitting exams
- Strong technical skills within management accountants and analysis
- Experience of managing and delivering financial project objectives
- Ability to apply analytical skills and provide financial insight beyond the traditional functions of finance and to bring them to bear on a broad range of organisational issues
- Strong time management and creative thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
- Results orientated team player and focused to deliver on time with accuracy
