Job description
This is one of the longest established independent groups in the country with over 90 years servicing their local communities.
Over the years, things have changed with new technology and the way the customer journey is managed.
They have made significant investment in the latest technology and all their practices are custom fitted.
They now require an Optometrist to join their team in a small, two test room practice on the Bedford area.
Optometrist
This is a full-time opportunity for an Optometrist to join a friendly vibrant team. Located on a quiet part of the city with a good level of footfall, with the practice having plenty of scope to increase the number of tests per week.
This practice is ticking along nicely but could do more and as a result are looking to expand.
They are looking for an experienced Optometrist that has a range of knowledge.
The practice is equipped with OCT inc OCT Angi, Manual Phoropter, trial frame, FDT, Humphrey, etc.
You will be supported by 3 experienced dispensers, a receptionist and another Optometrist.
Test times will be between 30 and 45 minutes.
Responsibilities of the Optometrist
- You will ideally have experience of working in an independent and full knowledge of all areas of working in a practice.
- The role will involve conducting sight tests in 30-45 minute time slots ensuring plenty of time to make a strong recommendation.
- Contact lens fittings and aftercares are also part of the role.
- As this is an independent company that is renowned for going the extra mile you will be expected to come onto the shop floor to answer questions and get involved with patients as well.
- Although patient focus is a big part of the role my client is also looking for someone hands on and commercially aware.
Requirements of the Optometrist
- The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 2/3 years post qualification experience ideally within a clinical practice.
- You will possess excellent communication skills and will be passionate about delivering the highest possible levels of care. You will be hard working and dynamic – happy to go the extra mile.
- Within this company everyone is expected to take a certain amount of ownership and to treat their patients as though they are theirs.
Compensation for the Optometrist
- My client is offering a competitive salary of up to £60,000
- Mon – Fri 09:00am – 17:30pm and Saturday 09:00am – 17:00 with flexibility on working Saturdays
- No bank holidays or Sunday working
- There is free parking at the practice.
