Job Title: Health and Safety (H&S) Manager
Location: Preston
Working Arrangements: Full-time, On-site, Regional (occasional nationwide) travel required
Our client, a rapidly growing Facilities Management business based in Preston, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety (H&S) Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a newly created role reflecting the company's expansion, and the ideal candidate will have a background in Facilities Management and hold a NEBOSH Diploma qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across multiple sites, identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
- Provide expert guidance and support to management and staff on health and safety matters, promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs, keeping employees informed and engaged.
- Collaborate with operational teams to integrate health and safety considerations into the planning and execution of projects.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of health and safety documentation and records.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Proven experience in health and safety management within the Facilities Management sector. NHS experience is a bonus.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel regionally, occasionally nationwide, as required.
- Full driving license.
Remuneration:
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £60,000 per annum. A company car is provided, and travel expenses will be covered for nationwide travel.
