Catastrophic Injury / Large Loss Solicitor, Legal Executive or Litigation Executive
Catastrophic Injury Lawyer – qualified and unqualified – The leading Large Loss team of this national firm is looking to attract a talented complex injury lawyer to further strengthen its UK offering. The level and quality of the work is peerless. In particular, you will be working with one of the key clients of the firm on a caseload of matters including head and spinal injuries, amputations and fatalities.

- Work pattern: 1 day in office / 4 days working from home
- Salary: £28,500 - £50,000
- Reports to: Partner
- Expertise: Ideally experience in Catastrophic or complex multitrack EL/PL or RTA work. Both defendant and claimant experience will be considered.
Working with leading Partner in team The role is designed to be more of an ‘assisting’ role where the candidate will work under supervision The intention is for the successful candidate to run a caseload of files with a reserve up to £250,000, whilst assisting a Partner on matters of £1m+.
The Partner deals with experienced and sophisticated in-house legal teams at a number of ‘tier 1’ insurers. Any given day may involve:
- Analysing high levels of quantum evidence and identifying any discrepancies in that evidence
- Analysing medical records to highlight key areas on which to instruct experts.
- Assessing liability evidence and identifying discrepancies and gaps
- Drafting technical advice on given part of case eg you may be required to advise on reserves, indemnity, liability, quantum and causation issues
- Proactively identifying next steps required on matter, discussing those aspects with the Lead Lawyer and taking action as agreed.
- Support Partner in setting out case strategy based on above
- Conducting witness interviews and drafting witness statements and attending conferences, JSMs, mediations etc as well as numerous other tasks associated with the role.
Candidates with aptitude for catastrophic injury The team is looking for solicitors, qualified legal executives as well as experienced litigation executives on a full-time or part-time basis. Candidates should have a real aptitude for complex injury work. Ideal candidates should already have strong litigated experience and ideally some experience of complex injury work.
That said, the team will consider those with lower value multi track experience as well as technical fast track who are looking for a step up into complex injury. Any experience and interest in advocacy work would also be welcome.
