Membership Engagement Manager

Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust

Location

Ormskirk, Lancashire | United Kingdom

Job description

About the role

Members are our most valued supporters and sit at the heart of WWT. They provide crucial support to wetlands in many ways; some give money, some give time, others are vocal in their support, and it’s important that we recognise and celebrate them all.

The Membership Engagement Manager is a key role working with the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (FMC) and Operations teams to develop a culture of high performance in membership recruitment and retention at sites.

You will work with senior colleagues from Supporter Engagement and Operations, as well as the Director of Operations to develop a refreshed membership recruitment and engagement strategy and subsequent action plans for sites. You will also work closely with colleagues in FMC, ensuring our on-site approach to membership recruitment and retention is in line with our supporter journey approach, and processes are fully compliant with Gift Aid, Fundraising Regulation and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

For this role we can offer some flexibility around working from home. It is expected the role will need to work from one of our larger three sites at Slimbridge, London or Martin Mere at least a couple of times a week. Regular travel to our other sites across the UK will also be necessary, staying away from home as and when required.

About You

You will be a highly personable and professional individual, with demonstrable skills in listening, influencing and building trust with stakeholders across an organisation to deliver high performance.

An excellent communicator you will be experienced in delivering training in supporter or customer care environments and you’ll be used to implementing plans and processes to improve performance.

A self-starter, you will thrive on getting out and meeting people and developing effective relationships with site- based and central teams to ensure ambitious targets are met and the best in supporter care and stewardship is delivered.

About Us

We are WWT, the charity for wetlands and wildlife. We have recently completed a review of our strategic priorities which includes ambitious targets for developing bigger and better wetlands, encouraging more people to take direct action for these unique places, and ensuring decision makers around the world realise the essential role wetlands play in restoring nature, capturing carbon and enhancing health and wellbeing.

WWT is at the beginning of an exciting change. We have ambitious, five year, supporter growth targets ahead of us and we have a dedicated and experienced Supporter Engagement Team that focuses on delivering these targets through a data-driven and supporter-centric approach.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

Closing date: 15th March 2024

Interview date: 26th & 27th March 2024

WWT is an equal opportunities employer and all applications will be considered solely on merit.
