Job description

PSR have a fantastic opportunity for an H&S Assistant to join a Main Contractor. The role will be to oversee a region of projects across the Midlands and report into the H&S Manager.

The primary focus of this role will be to provide professional H&S support, advice and coaching to site teams and assist in the implementation of processes, and ensure that the business H&S policy is promoted and effectively deployed.

Key Duties for the H&S Assistant:

Ensure that all projects are visited on a regular basis, personally attending as agreed with H&S Manager.

Coach Project Leads and Project teams on risk identification and mitigation

Assist in investigations into agreed incidents and coach project teams on investigation techniques

Complete regular reviews of project RAMS and project plans ensuring they are timely and fit for purpose and ensure compliance to all WPS.

Support local project teams and regional leadership in the preparation of bids and preconstruction information. Actively promoting risk awareness within the design and preconstruction communities

Experience of the H&S Assistant:

We are looking for an individual with experience of H&S within the Construction environment as well as an understanding of legislation regarding construction H&S. It would be preferred that the H&S Assistant have NEBOSH Construction or working towards.

To be successful in the role you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to coach and influence individuals, along with being able to identify hazards, quantify risks and to analyse and present data effectively to senior boards and forums when required.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience + car and benefits
