Band 6 Cross Sectional Radiographer

Dorset County Hospital is looking for motivated and experienced MRI/CT Radiographers to join our team providing a seven day service to the Trust. This is an ideal opportunity to develop your career in a proactive and innovative hospital environment. You will be involved in staff training, maintaining high standards and development of the service.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Dorset County Hospital is a cohesive, friendly and forward looking department. We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all Diagnostic Imaging staff and are very proud to be accredited with the Quality Standard for Imaging.

We have two CT scanners; a Canon Prism and a GE Evo performing a range of procedures including CT Colonography, Cardiac CT and 4D scans. We also have two Siemens MRI scanners performing a wide range of imaging. We will be expanding our CT service this year by adding a third CT scanner to one of our community hospitals. The new emergency department due in 2026 will also have a new CT scanner located in the heart of the department. The MRI team will be developing a Cardiac MRI service soon. We actively encourage staff development and innovation, including radiographer reporting.

Dorset County Hospital is in the county town of Dorchester and has good rail links to Southampton, Bristol and London. It is a wonderful town for young families with excellent schools and local amenities. Dorchester is a delightful place to live and work with the choice of coast or country for leisure activities. Weymouth has a wide variety of water sports and night life available and Dorchester has undergone a big regeneration recently with plenty of bars and restaurants for all tastes.

The post holder will join the cross sectional team in developing and sustaining a high quality and responsive 7 day CT and MRI service. Participation in the CT night shift rota is a requirement. Travel to community sites is required.
