The hospital has residential facilities for 56 inpatients as well as day care and outpatient services.
Job Advert Role Description
The hospital currently has a vacancy for a full time Social Worker to work with our CAMHS, specialist ED inpatient services, the role holder will also be expected to work with our adult inpatient services to provide cover for annual leave and/or other absences.
The role holder will be responsible for the following:
- Conducting comprehensive and objective evaluations of the client's current status, environment and functional abilities, including risk assessment of clients, staff and wider community.
- Managing an assigned caseload ascertaining the socio-economic circumstances of clients, ensuring that relevant people are made aware of the situation. Maintain associated records.
- Assisting with Safeguarding issues and taking appropriate action with those statutory services.
- Assisting and supporting colleagues and relatives in understanding and interpreting changes in legislation and statutory provision.
- Collaborating and acting as main contact between relatives, agencies, and other official organisations, coordinating negotiations and communications regarding admissions, discharges and long term needs.
- Providing training to staff on adult and child safeguarding (appropriate training provided by company for this element of the role)
- Candidates will possess a social work degree and hold HCPC registration and have a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Children's Act and Safeguarding.
- Candidates will have experience working as a qualified practitioner including experience relevant within a mental health setting.
