Would working nights fit in with other personal commitments such as childcare? If so, then this could be the job for you! We are looking for support workers who are available to work 10 hours per week for waking night shifts for our Scarborough office. You would be working as part of a large team over two of our services, of which both of the customers are male. One gentleman has epilepsy and additional needs, the other has cerebral palsy. They are both non-verbal so having good communication skills will be key when interacting with the customers as well as the other team members. As a waking night support worker you will do routine checks, support the gentlemen with their needs and help to maintain a warm, homely environment. Previous experience is not needed, we provide full training and support throughout your employment with us, enabling you to develop skills and create long lasting relationships with the customers you support. Shift times are 10pm-7am or 10:15pm-7:15am depending on which customer you are supporting on any given night. There are also other shifts available with some of our other amazing customers in the Scarborough area. Being a driver with access to a car is desirable due to the locations of the support but is not essential. We are proud to pay above the National Minimum Wage with the waking night weekday rate at £11.70 per hour and waking weekends at £12.21 per hour. If you choose to work any additional shifts, the rate will start from £11.00 per hour for customer contact time. When you work at Avalon, you become part of the Avalon family. We value our people. We’ll support you to achieve great things at work, developing your skills and boosting your confidence so that together, we can change lives. Could you be part of the team? If you’re a caring person, dedicated to helping people live fulfilling and meaningful lives, then we’d love to hear from you.
