Job title: Project Engineer
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom (On-site)
TGRC is working with one of Europe's largest generators of renewable energy who are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team.
The Project Engineer will collaborate with their Senior Business Development Manager, engaging in early feasibility work, technical evaluations, project design, environmental assessments, and supporting the planning application process. Their portfolio includes active projects in different stages of progression, demanding continuous assistance.
Primarily concentrated on On-Shore Wind and BESS, with some involvement in Solar PV projects in Scotland & Wales, this role offers a unique opportunity. The company boasts a substantial portfolio of Batteries & Solar in Scotland at the NSIP level, providing the candidate with active involvement in all project stages.
Provide support in the planning, management, and execution of projects across all development stages, from site assessment to pre-construction. Effectively manage and report on project risks. Assist in planning applications and ensure coordination with internal teams for resource allocation, fostering efficient project development.
Oversee environmental, technical, and commercial aspects of project interactions.
Support Senior Business Development in negotiations with landowners, collaborating with the Land and Estates Manager for development sites and access routes.
Engage with planning authorities, consultees, stakeholder groups, and the public, including public meeting presentations and community relations coordination.
Manage external consultants, both technical and environmental.
Contribute to the project design process within the project design team, involving technology selection and preliminary engineering designs.
Prepare comprehensive briefing reports for internal decision-making.
Possesses experience and insight into energy markets, with a strong focus on issues relevant to the successful delivery of renewable energy projects.
Over 2 years On-shore Wind experience
We would expect candidates to have a good degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines; Engineering, Project Management, and Quantity Surveying.
Experience of the UK planning system and EIA Regulations
Knowledge of overseas planning and regulatory systems for renewables is desirable.
Confident use of Windows-based IT systems
Ideally have experience in using and interpreting GIS mapping
Experience in managing environmental impact assessments and preparation of Environmental Statements
Proven track record in the technical development of wind projects
