BAND 7 OPPORTUNITY FOR A COMMUNITY TEAM LEAD:
We have an exciting opportunity to work as a key member of our friendly team of Dietitians in theWest Dorset Integrated Acute & Community DietitiansServicebased at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester (DCH).
We provide community services to north and west Dorset and are recruiting a Band 7 team lead Community Dietitian as a permanent member of our supportive team. Full-time, part-time and flexible working are considered. You will be a vital resource to the area, providing scheduled clinics, patient/staff education sessions and community hospital inpatient services as well as responding creatively to ad-hoc requests, recommending service improvements, representing the Department and promoting the Profession; all with patients as the priority.
You will be a key member of the department that provides a wide range of dietetic services across both the acute and community settings.
We are pushing the boundaries of virtual service delivery, using technology to creatively deliver our services . Although you will often be lone-working (as is usual for a Community role), you are part of a Dietetic Department of 30 dietetic, nurses and admin staff based at DCH and you will have easy access to them for peer and senior support. You will also build professional relationships with your community colleagues in GP surgeries, and community hospitals.

To work as the clinical lead for community dietetic services and to take the lead in facilitating a team approach for the provision of community dietetic care.
To undertake a lead clinical role in co-ordinating, developing, delivering, and evaluating evidence based dietetic service across the community setting.
The post holder will work alongside the Dietetic Manager to ensure the community service is responsive to the needs of patients and referring agents. The community service provided should be of a high quality both effective and efficient within available resources and abide by the professional code of conduct and healthcare professions council regulations.
The post holder will work as a highly specialist autonomous Dietitian, responsible for an identified highly complex clinical caseload within the community setting.
The post holder will function as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) delivering expert advice regarding patients’ nutritional status most appropriate therapeutic diet.
The post holder will be responsible for providing strategic advice and direction for the community service.
Work flexibly, across multiple office workspaces and from home using telephone and various digital platforms to deliver services safely in compliance with evolving social distancing guidance
Independently manage the allocated workload, alerting the Line Manager to development opportunities, inefficiencies, or problems.
