Here at The Job People, we are looking for 3 Shift Fitters to join our team in the Chester Depot.

An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our Chester garage as a Shift Fitter reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles.

£17.30 Per Hour - Rotation Shifts - 38 Hours Per Week

The role as an Automotive Shift Fitter Technician will involve:

• Servicing and repairs to our clients' standards and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
• MOT preparation
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to company Standards (Higher than DVSA)
• Shift Work
• General service, maintenance and repair of public service vehicles
• Cope with the day to day pressures that a normal vehicle workshop brings
• Vehicle inspections
• MOT preparation / Presentation
• Correction of running defects

Requirements of a Shift Fitter in Chester:

• Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ)
• Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines.
• Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary.
• A PCV license is desirable but not necessary.
• Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable.
