If so, join us as a Commercial Manager and you’ll join one of the most exciting and ambitious projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.

The Opportunity… 

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E. 

EPR-E is responsible for management of the associated design contracts, supporting commercially the delivery. As a Commercial Manager within the Commercial, Procurement and Finance directorate, and specifically, within the Commercial Team, you will use your existing commercial skillset, to support the teams at Aztec West, in delivering a key scope within the main Responsible Designer (RD) contract for HPC.

What you’ll be doing…

•    Managing, coordinating, negotiating a portfolio of varied contractual events from inception
to implementation, focusing predominantly on the management of risk and contract change
•    Developing and implementing commercial strategies to respond to emergent contractual
topics and issued.
•    Providing commercial and contractual knowledge and advice to the Engineering teams,
both in the UK and in France,
•    Producing, analysing, and presenting financial, commercial, and contractual data to
internal project teams, as well as the client.
•    Coordinating with Change, Cost, Risk, and Schedule teams to ensure coherent and
consistent project progress.
•    Planning, preparing, and negotiating of commercial offers to a variety of contract change
events.
•    At all times operating in accordance with the EPR-E Information Management System
(IMS), rules and procedures to ensure that all contracts are administered within delegation
of authority and the overall EPR-E governance/assurance regime.

Who you are…


Your background may include some of the following:

•    Effective commercial and contract management skills, with clear knowledge of best
practice contract methodologies
•    Good understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and
change and claim management.
•    Developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound recommendations
on matters of significant financial value.
•    Prior experience on the HPC Project
•    Educated to Degree Level
•    Track record with most common forms of contract (in particular, NEC) within the
power construction industry and major projects
•    Member of RICS/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body
•    Familiar with the nuclear site license conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy
with understanding of the UK regulatory framework
